The air was thick with wisdom and history this week as our community gathered for a truly transformative event. Bishop Nate Stampley returned to his deep local roots to convene a multi-day seminar that was as intellectually rigorous as it was spiritually uplifting.
Focusing on the legacy of the African American connection to the historical context of the Bible, the seminar bridged the gap between ancient scripture and modern identity.
From Belize to the Neighborhood
While Bishop Stampley is a powerhouse on the national and international stage—currently leading and teaching from his home base in Belize—his heart clearly remains with his original community. Participants were treated to a global perspective grounded in local love.
The seminar explored the deep, often overlooked presence of African figures and lineages within the biblical narrative. The literature provided was described by several attendees as "stellar," offering a fresh, academic, and empowering look at historical truth.
Avid IPAMA visitors may be familiar with the name Nate Stampley Jr. There is a commemorative poster ,Fresh from the bright lights of Broadway, Nate Jr. brought the majesty of his acclaimed role in The Lion King directly to our campus.
"It’s one thing to talk about history; it’s another to see that history being made by the next generation."
