IPAMA is an innovative and exceptionally striking conference, event, and cultural space located on Milwaukee’s northside. Offering affordable, first-class accommodations for gatherings of all kinds, IPAMA provides a beautiful and welcoming environment for meetings, celebrations, community events, and special occasions. Its full-service catering team is available with a complete menu to enhance every experience.
More than a venue, IPAMA is a museum and multimedia educational complex designed to immerse visitors in the richness of the African American artistic experience. The space features exhibits, inventions, art pieces, records, sculptures, photographs, paintings, tapestries, writings, memorabilia, and other treasured artifacts that proclaim legacy through sight and sound. With classrooms, meeting spaces, and modern technology, IPAMA can accommodate up to 250 guests in its main hall.
Inspired by African spoken word traditions and rites of passage symbolized by the griot and the drum, IPAMA is committed to amplifying truth within the Black art narrative. Designed to preserve and celebrate the diversity of Black artistic expression across all genres, the museum highlights both the triumphs and the struggles of the African American spirit through music and the arts.
IPAMA is the realization of the educational and cultural vision of Bishop Sedgwick Daniels. Established to preserve the rich legacy of African American contributions to the performing and visual arts, IPAMA exists to serve the community, foster enrichment, and build meaningful, lasting relationships through culture, education, and artistic excellence.
