WE REMEMBER
William Jeffrey Tucker Campus
July 1, 1962 - February 25, 2010
The Lord’s plan to humanize a phenomenally talented gospel music composer and instrumentalist was realized July 1, 1962 through the birth of William Jeffrey Tucker, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jurist J. Tucker and Wilma I. Lester- Tucker nurtured their gifted son with humor, love, and a plethora of opportunities. William, affectionately known as “Jeff”, enjoyed familial and educational benefits throughout his entire life in Wisconsin. His spiritual development was a direct result of his mother’s strong Pentecostal Apostolic religious commitment, which he expressed through his music skills.
As a teen-ager, Jeff’s quest for gospel music excellence afforded him the privilege to become a protégé’ of Valerie Daniels, who served as Minister of Music at the Greater Westside Church of God In Christ (Pastor W. L. Hines). Jeff eagerly participated in the entire Church Of God In Christ Music Department culture; jurisdictionally under the auspices of Mother Kathryn Daniels, State President Wisconsin Southeast First and internationally through the denomination’s Music Department President, Dr. Mattie Moss-Clark.
Moreover, Jeff’s musical ministry encircled every echelon within the gospel music industry without respect to denomination or geographic limitations. As a composer, Jeff’s music was shared and recorded by nationally and locally acclaimed gospel artists. Among his credits include: the creation of his community choir, The Enspired Chorale (T.E.C.); the elevation to Jurisdictional Minister of Music for Wisconsin First Jurisdiction; and unparalleled collaboration of the Holy Redeemer music department.
His tenure at Holy Redeemer integrated a range of skills and services which included environmental assistant, office clerk, transportation coordinator, mass media coordinator, information technology proctor, music instructor, musical band leader, and executive administrative assistant to the Bishop. Jeff coordinated all major productions for Holy Redeemer Christian Academy, HR Possentum, HR Global, Young-Coggs Preparatory Academy and orchestrated every musical salute for Bishop Sedgwick Daniels.
