Fisk Jubilee Singers Visit IPAMA

The Bishop Daniels Institute for the Preservation of African American Music and Arts recently had the pleasure of welcoming the Fisk Jubilee Singers during their visit to Milwaukee.
While at the Institute, the ensemble toured several of our exhibits and spent time learning more about the stories, traditions, and cultural contributions preserved throughout the space. Their visit provided a special opportunity to connect the historic legacy of the Fisk Jubilee Singers with the Institute’s mission of preserving and celebrating African American music, arts, history, and culture.
Throughout the tour, members of the ensemble engaged with exhibits highlighting gospel music, civil rights history, and the many individuals whose work has helped shape the African American experience.
Before departing, the Fisk Jubilee Singers graced those in attendance with a special musical selection, bringing the visit to a memorable close. We were honored to host such an important and historic ensemble and to share the work of the Institute with them.
