THE INSTITUTE FOR THE PRESERVATION OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSIC & ARTS
focuses on preserving diverse musical genres and legendary contributions of African-Americans as well as the displaying and exhibiting of artifacts, paintings and an array of artistic rendering that demonstrate cultural appreciation of the arts. The I-PAMA advances awareness of the Black artistic journey through a collection of archival displays and historical footages that depict the African-American artistic sojourn.

Howard University National Day of Service
IPAMA was honored to be selected by Howard University as a National Day of Service site. Fifty students traveled from Washington, D.C. to Milwaukee, dedicating an entire week to cataloging, recording, and documenting the IPAMA collection. Their work played a critical role in preserving and authenticating the institution’s historic compilation of African American music, art, and cultural artifacts.


Interdenominational Prayer Breakfast with the Mayor and County Executive
In a powerful demonstration of unity, Mayor Cavalier Johnson and County Executive David Crowley joined clergy, elected officials, and faith leaders from across Milwaukee for this inclusive prayer breakfast. Attendees included the Catholic Archbishop of Wisconsin, prominent rabbis, and a wide spectrum of Christian leaders, all coming together to foster spiritual solidarity and civic collaboration.

IPAMA at Juneteenth
IPAMA proudly participated in Milwaukee’s Juneteenth celebration with a full community engagement presence. Activities included a vibrant booth featuring historical artifacts, Black History Makers memorabilia, food sampling, interactive displays, and a banquet-style demonstration station. Staff also marched in the annual parade to commemorate freedom and celebrate heritage.


C.H. Mason Health Clinic “Back to School” Community Fair
In collaboration with over 15 local agencies, the C.H. Mason Health Clinic hosts this annual fair to support families preparing for the school year. Children receive free haircuts, dental screenings, backpacks, snacks, and enjoy activities like face painting and games—all at no cost to families.

An Evening with President William Jefferson Clinton at IPAMA
During the height of the campaign season, the Institute for the Preservation of African American Music and Arts (IPAMA) was honored to host a historic and inspiring evening with the 42nd President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton. This exclusive event served as a powerful intersection of politics, culture, and community, bringing together civic leaders, artists, educators, and citizens for a night of reflection and forward vision.
President Clinton addressed a packed audience, speaking passionately about the power of the Black community, the enduring legacy of African American music and arts, and the importance of unity and civic engagement during critical times. His remarks highlighted not only policy insights and political reflections but also personal stories that resonated deeply with the intergenerational crowd.


Christmas on Mother Daniels Way
In loving memory of Mother Kathryn Daniels, this cherished holiday tradition blesses the community with the spirit of giving. Each year, IPAMA distributes food, gifts, and holiday joy to families in need. Thousands of children and families have been impacted by this expression of love, hope, and generosity during the Christmas season.


“Men in the Community” Super Bowl Celebration
This annual gathering welcomes hundreds of men from across the community to enjoy Super Bowl LIX in a festive atmosphere filled with fellowship, food, games, and brotherhood. It’s a beloved tradition that strengthens relationships and promotes positive male engagement across generations.

Hosted by a leading nonprofit dedicated to strengthening fatherhood, this annual banquet honors fathers who have made significant strides in personal growth, parenting, and community involvement. The event uplifts stories of transformation and celebrates the powerful role of fatherhood in building strong families.


Emmett Till Civil Rights Exhibition
This deeply moving exhibit honors the life and legacy of Emmett Till while shedding light on America’s civil rights journey. Through powerful visuals and storytelling, the display invites reflection, education, and community dialogue around justice, healing, and remembrance.

Fellowship Open Tournament: Opening Night Reception at IPAMA
As part of Wisconsin’s premier corporate and community charity golf event, the Fellowship Open launches each year with a special reception hosted at IPAMA. IPAMA Hosts Regional Clerics Gathering for Ministry and Leadership Training
